MARSDEN 4-8 SAVILE YOUTH (4/5/08)

This week Savile faced up against a determined Marsden side who were out finish their season off in style. However Savile did not let happen, having the confidence to play some good and swift football. The game kicked off and in the opening 2 minutes Savile’s striker Usama scored to put them in the lead. However the game did not end their for Savile, they scored 3 minutes later with the Savile striker Usama scoring again by lobbing the Marsden goal keeper. Savile having the 2-0 lead, they started playing some good football, and also started to create some scoring oppotunities. Savile central midfielder Umair Sabzy took a wonder strike from about 25 yards out with which the Marsden keeper pulled off a marvelous save and went out for a corner. Savile winger Umar took the corner and planted it on a plate for Umair Sabzy wich he headed home with ease. On the other hand Masden replied with the central midfielder lobbing the Savile keeper, Ismail. However Savile did not back down after the replied goal. The winger Umar ran down the line and passed it to the striker Hamzah wich he gave back to Umar, Umar took on the left back and laced the ball into the penalty area wich was deflected by the defender and went inside the goal. This put Savile 4-1 up. However Savile were on the attack again with Umar taking on 3 players and was fouled on the edge of the area. The centre back, Yahayah steped up to take the free kick and scored by placing the ball in the left hand corner. This put Savile 5-1 up. Savile started to communicate more and more as the game went on and made the most of scoring oppotunities with the striker, Usama scoring twice, and getting his 4th goal of the game. The half time whistle went and Savile were 7-1 up. As the second half kicked off and Savile were fighting against the wind. However Marsden on the other hand who were making the most of the wind took some wonder shots and all of them were saved by the Savile’s keeper, Ismail. Marsden scored with a corner coming in from the right hand side and the number 11 scored with a scrappy finish. Marsden started to play some really dirty football, but Savile did not retaliate with the agressiveness of the Marsden footballers. However Marsden were awarded a penalty, with a dilibrate dive by the Marsden striker. Marsden scored the penalty with ease and left the keeper going the wrong way. Marden scored again with a free kick on the edge of the box wich left the Savile’s keeper dumbfounded. Savile replied with Umair Sabzy scoring his second of the game with a beautiful strike from outside the box wich left the keeper going the wrong way. The final whistle went and Savile finished the season off in style with an 8-4 victory over Marsden Juniors and secured 5th place in the Huddersfield Junior Football League.

SAVILE YOUTH 1-1 WALPOLE (6/4/08)

GAME WAS CALLED OFF AFTER 10 MINUTES INTO THE SECOND HALF!!

This week Savile faced up against a very strong Walpole side, which starting to find thier form, after beating the league leaders, Pudsey 5-0, and Westend’ B 4-0. The rivalry clash had to be replayed due to a serious injury last time to one of Savile’s players. As the game kicked off with walpole playing some attacking football, and Savile on the back foot. However when Savile got the ball they started to knock it around and play some swift and attractive football. Walpole got the break through 20 minutes into the game with the number 10 splitting the Savile defence apart and finishing it off perfectly. After the goal Savile were absoloutly dominating the game and were beautiful to watch. The half time whistle went and Savile were down at 1-0. In the second half Savile kicked off and started to pass the ball more and more, and started to create some scoring oppotunities, but the strikers Usama and Ibrahim did not quite take them. The game had to be paused for about 3 minutes due to swearing by the Walpole players, towards the referee. The Walpole players had been warned. Howver as Savile were dominating the play, they got the equaliser with Fayaz Bobat giving a lofted ball over the top to Usama with which he scuffed but it just managed to go in the back of the net. Unfortunatly the game had to be called off because of swearing and arguing between the two teams. The final score 1-1 but abandoned.

SAVILE YOUTH 9-1 NORRISTHORPE (30/3/08)

This week Savile faced a Norristhorpe side which were not up to thier standards in the league, and knew that they were up for a tough game against Savile. Savile having beating them in the previous fixture had the confidence that they could do it again. As the game kicked off with Savile passing the ball about nice and smoothly, and creating some scoring oppotunities by getting the crosses in from thier wingers Umair and Umar. As Savile’s striker Ibrahim missed a one on one with the keeper, Norristhorpe went on the attack, and took a wonder shot from 30 yard out with which the Savile keeper denied at full stretch. However Norristhorpe scored to make it 1-0 by having a corner and one of the wingers headering the ball in to the back of the net. On the other hand Savile did not let the game finish there, they responded with an equaliser with the winger Umair scoring his 3rd goal of the season. Straight after scoring the equaliser Savile’s central midfileder, Hanzalah who was still in search for his first league goal, scored by taking on the defence and slotting it pass the keeper, which he scored with ease.

The game did not quite end there for Savile with Ibrahim scoring a hat-rick and the the other striker who played in centre of midfield, Sabzy scored another hat-rick against the same for the second time this season. Hanzalah got his second of the season in the second half with a smashing shot 7 yards from goal which the keeper had no chance to save. Savile played a good clean match of football and put on a real show. The final score Savile 9 Norristhorpe 1.
